tammyTAMMY BLAIR --- Owner

Tammy is the founder of Sunshrine Day Spa & Salon. Tammy’s involvement with esthetics and management for the past 11 years has given her a wealth of knowledge and resources in business and marketing and enabled her to run her own business over the last 9 years. Her continued success has led her to be approved by Canada’s Licensing Division as an Education Center and therefore will be developing an Academy for licensing hairdressers with extraordinary education.

Tammy has effectively created from nothing, Sunshrine’s large team of talented professionals. Her leadership and kindness has provided salon professionals with the tools to take their vision to the next level. Tammy’s staff has enjoyed key results from their experience of the powerful work environment at Sunshrine Day Spa & Salon. She makes sure that her staff is exposed to all of the latest trends and most up to date technology and treatments that she can get her hands on. For this reason Tammy empowers her staff to attend as many trade shows as possible every year; trade shows such as Spa International, Medical Show, ABA, Tim Heartly, Paulo (Eva Garden), Anthony Mascolo, Wella’s Future Vision. Tammy herself attends seminars such as Teri Cowen, Raymond Aaron, Donald Trump, Anthony Robins, Laurie Langmire, Jeff Gray, & Bill Clinton just to name a few. The staffs continuously travels internationally and nationally for their advanced education and you will find if you look closely, that the staff also competes for some of Canada’s top hairdressing awards!

In addition to being a 7 time Award winning Spa & Salon, Sunshrine has been published nationally in many articles, including Modern Salon, Salon Today, Salon News, & the front cover of Kawartha Women’s Magazine. Making Tammy a very proud Salon & Spa owner.

Tammy herself is a licensed estheticians and on occasions you will find her servicing a client; it is with that dedication she participates in all the education her staff partakes in, from business seminars to hair coloring and cutting classes and more!

Tammy has recently begun supporting local salon owners with the challenges of their businesses because of her commitment to people’s success. Through ESON (Eufora’s Salon Owners Network) Tammy has found herself as a featured speaker, motivator, teacher, and facilitator for salon owner meetings to empower the salon industries community. As you will find, Tammy has an engaging manner and puts her audiences and clients at ease quickly.

Community involvement is very important to Tammy and for that reason she also sits on the board of directors for the Kawartha Chamber of Commerce, and is currently developing a project for the Lakefield Primary Health care Campaign (Medical Center). Tammy is continuously doing fundraisers for the community.

Tammy is madly in love with her husband and co-owner Ryan. They have two gorgeous children at home, Marcus 8 years old and Brianna 5 years old.

BRIANNE CLARK --- Master Hair Stylist 

Brianne is the newest addition to Sunshrine and she brings    with her over 12 years of experience. She has a reputation   for putting clients first and is committed to building strong   and healthy work teams. Her analytical ability as well as      creativity allows her to bring out people’s natural beauty. She demonstrates this with her skills in haircutting, styling and coloring. With over 12 years experience in the  beauty industry, she has accomplished a successful career maintaining a large clientele but is always welcoming new guests into her chair.

julesJULIE MOHER --- Salon Manager/Intermediate Hair Stylist

Julie has been an important team member, with Sunshrine since 2005. She has received 2 promotions in less than a year, truly showing that her passion for this industry is real. Julie loves to learn new skills & techniques; she loves utilizing her cutting skills in texturizing, personalizing and shaping cuts.

Julie began as an assistant and discovered a passion that inspired her to become a hairstylist. In that year Julie advanced with Wella Colour Masters, Advanced Toni & Guy courses, and competitive work entering 2007 Canadian Young Protégé competition placing top 6 in all of Canada, and then an impressive win of second place in the finals in Toronto. The top leader in the salon has give Julie acknowledgement as Salon Manager, directing and maintaining inventory and retail learning the business inside & out. There isn't enough that Julie can learn about this business, she strives for perfection in her trade.

“If you love what you do, your passion will be shown in your profession”.

Julie loves that a simple technique of cutting or colour placement can change someone’s appearance for looking younger, trendy or more modern.

julesAMY MURRAY --- Intermediate Hair Stylist
Amy has been part of the Sunshrine team since August of 2008. She completed her hairdressing education in Toronto at Marca College where she also worked for three years in trendy, up scale salons. Amy has attended several seminars and classes to enhance and expand her knowledge and skills. She came back to her roots in Ennismore in 2006 and started building her clientele in Peterborough at a local salon. 

Amy is hard working, friendly, passionate and dedicated to both her work and her clients; which can be seen through the large number of clients who have followed her from her last place of work and she has, and continues to welcome them with open arms at her new home here at Sunshrine.

Amy welcomes you to Sunshrine with a warm heart and the passion to ensure that your personal needs are met above and beyond.

julesANGE YOUNG --- Junior Hair Stylist

Ange started full-time in August 2007 here at Sunshrine. She choose to do her apprenticeship with Sunshrine and started with us in December 2006 through to July 2007. She's been doing hair for as long as she can remember, from Up-do's on friends to playing around with colors and styles, she's never lost her passion! In High School, Ange took 3 years of hairstyling courses and passed with Honors every year. When she graduated, she received both the Hair & Apprenticeship Awards! This made her realize that she could make a career out of her passion. She went on to St. Lawrence College Hairstyling Program, where she graduated again with Honors. She also graduated from Fleming College from their Make-up Artistry Course.


Ange enjoys creating funky, fun, new & fresh hair & make-up styles. Currently she is taking Wella's Color Masters Course and plans to further her education and Sunshrine is the perfect place for that!

julesNICOLE LAZURE --- Junior Hair Stylist
Nicole joined Sunshrine in July 2008 and is currently working on her Hair Stylist apprenticeship. Nicole has always known that hair styling was the career for her. She always felt fortunate in that way because it allowed her to explore her passion much earlier than her peers. Nicole was very involved in hair styling even in high school. She attended salon co op placements, worked at her Aunt's Salon and enrolled in hair styling classes every year. Upon graduation Nicole received the Hair Styling Award. Last year she attended St. Lawrence College and graduated with a diploma in both hair styling and make up artistry.  She also worked at a salon in Kingston through out her school year which helped to further her education. Since we are very busy here at Sunshrine with wedding parties Nicole has been able to explore her creative side by doing updo's and make up applications. She feels it an honour to be able to create the perfect updo and look to make you feel great about yourself on your special day. Nicole is also currently taking esthetics at night school to broaden her abilities for the future. Nicole loves being a part of the Sunshrine team! And looks forward to one day building her own clientele!!

BRITTANY HICKS --- Junior Hair Stylist
Brittany joined Sunshrine at the beginning of 2010! Brittany was born in Peterborough and moved to Bancroft, where she had lived for the past 22 years until recently relocating to Lakefield. Brittany got worked as a receptionist and a shampoo assistant and got into hairstyling from there. She has been working as a hair stylist for the past three and a half years and loves it! She completed her apprenticeship and training in Etobicoke and Mississauga.

Brittany is looking forward to continuing her education in hair styling and has already attended courses while working at Sunshrine, including Davines Renaissance Colour and L'Oreal "Keys to Colour" course. She also place 7th at the A.B.A student competition in Toronto.  

Brittany is looking forward to building her clientele and to start a new journey here at Sunshrine!

julesJODI MURPHY --- Senior Esthetician / Reflexologist / Permanent Make-up Artist

Jodi Murphy has been an important part of Sunshrine's team as an esthetician and reflexologist since the beginning of 2006. She loves all aspects of esthetics, particularly enjoys doing creative work with nail art and make-up.

Jodi graduated with honors at Sir Sandford Fleming College in the Esthetics & Reflexology program.  She also participated in the Eva Garden make-up course at Sunshrine and has her Eufora PHD. Jodi is currently working on her Hairdressing license. She has attended quite a few courses including: Euphora's Updo course, Wella's Colour Masters, Lights Camera Action, and Wella's Trend Vision '08 Cut/Colour class. She has also been attending Pevonia's skin care training.

"I love esthetics because of the rewarding feeling of teaching my clients how to enhance their natural beauty from within." 

She is looking forward to further her education to bring your latest trends and to keep up with industry standards so that she can give her guest the service they need to fulfill their day.

Recently Jodi has helped three stylists place in competitions with her talented make-up abilities on their award winning models!  Congrats Jodi!

Jodi just finished her training at Auriel's Touch for Micro pigmentation - Permanent Make-Up.

Jodi has also won her fair share of awards by placing in the top 10 in Canada for Wella Trend Vision, and 2nd place in North America for Euphora's Avante-garde.

Jodi is currently doing more upgrading by working on achieving her hair styling license. She is Apprenticing under our professional stylists to expand her talents.

julesLYNDSEY BROOKS --- Esthetician

Lyndsey is a graduate from Elmcrest College in Toronto. She joined Sunshrine in the summer of 2007 and has been a valuable team member ever since. She's passionate about the health and beauty industry which has led her to further her education. She is attending a private college in Toronto called Champlain Institute which will allow her to perform medical esthetics. Lyndsey is constantly striving to learn all she possibly can to benefit all new and current clients.

julesMELISSA GIRARD --- Esthetician
Melissa joined the Sunshrine crew in the summer of 2007.  She is a graduate of Fleming College - Cobourg Esthetics Program.  Not only is this knowledgeable esthetics program, but advances the student into the business and health aspect of the industry.

Melissa's favorite aspect of esthetics is Facials.  She loves the way a person can have instant results and enjoys making them feel relaxed and rejuvenated.  Melissa enjoys doing make-up and adding some colour to peoples lives, but looks forward to furthering her make-up education.  Melissa is an enthusiastic learner and very keen on learning more about the industry.  She has participated in Plantogen Skin Brightening Course & Plantogen Hot Stone Massage Course including hot stone facials, manicure & pedicures, she has also partaken in Qtica & Zoya product knowledge.

Congratulations to Melissa, who gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Lily, on January 24, 2010! Lily weighed 9lbs, 9oz and everyone is healthy and happy!

CARA McLAUGHLIN --- Esthetician
Cara joined the Sunshrine team in October of 2008. Originally from Southern Ontario, she recently moved to Peterborough to pursue a career in the spa industry. She graduated with honors from Trillium College's Esthetics Program at which time she was also presented with the 'Outstanding Student Award'. Prior to working at Sunshrine Cara was employed in the health care industry as a Personal Support Worker caring for peoples needs and well being. These are traits that Cara has brought to Sunshrine with her and she is excited about extending the same care to each client. When asked Cara will tell you that facials are her specialty, but that she enjoys all aspects of esthetics and is constantly upgrading her knowledge and skills to meet many and varied needs. As Cara will no doubt tell you "It is very rewarding to me to help each individual client look and feel their best by bringing out the beauty from within."  

Cara has taken courses in Make up Application (with Eva Garden & Skin Addicts), skin care (with Pevonia , Demalogica, and Clayton Shagal), Brazilian waxing  and Nail services (Qtica & Zoya).

DEANNA ROSS --- Esthetician
Deanna stated her esthetic training in September 2007 at Art & Technology in Oshawa, a private college for estheticians, and graduated with honours. The course provided training in manicures, pedicures, make up, body treatments, massage, waxing and facials. After school, Deanna began working at Spa Euforia. where she was trained on G.M. Collins, Spa Ritual and Comfort Zone. She also completed training on Sothys & Héliabrine for skin care. Deanna joined Sunshrine in 2009 and became a welcome addition to our team! She loves helping clients feel better about themselves and having them refreshed and happy with their service. Although she enjoys all the services she performs at Sunshrine, her passion is in hair removal, including Brazilians, and facials!

SAMANTHA COATHAM --- Esthetician
Samantha started her esthetic training in September 2008 at Fleming College in Cobourg. Under the supervision of her well rounded teachers, she learned unique techniques and received private one on one training from these teachers. Her passion and commitment gave her many opportunities. She enjoyed doing wedding parties, manicures, pedicures, make up, and doing private house parties. Samantha was also nominated by her teachers to enter in the skills competition for estheticians, ranking 3rd in all of Ontario colleges. 

While in school, Samantha trained at Ste. Anne's Spa in hydrotherapy. She then worked for Ste. Anne's for four months, after which she became part of the Sunshrine team in 2009! With much more training in mind to further her experience, she hopes it will be a fun and challenging time here at Sunshrine Day Spa & Salon.

Samantha's favourite services to perform are make up applications and body wraps. She enjoys esthetics because she loves being the person to help people feel better about themselves.

You will find Erin's warm and friendly greeting from the second you walk through our doors until your final goodbye! Being here since November 2006, she is always smiley and bubbly. She knows hot to make the clients laugh and feel right at home! Usually she will be the one answering the phones and booking your appointments or taking care of wedding parties or large corporate bookings. She really believes that great customer service and is always more than willing to help in any way she can.

RACHELLE KOETSTRA --- RMT
Rachelle  is a Registered Massage Therapist who graduated with high standings from the three year Massage Therapy Program at Sir Sanford Fleming College. Throughout her training she worked on many different bodies, such as athletes, prenatal moms, and the general public. She is registered with the College of Massage Therapist of Ontario and is extremely passionate about her work. She is driven and focused on her healing in an alternative way to help promote health and wellness.

EMILY NELSON --- Salon & Spa Assistant
Emily has been a member of the Sunshrine team since 2008. She works part time as a spa and salon assistant while she finishes her final year in High School. Although Emily is going to university next fall to pursue a career in social work, she hopes to still continue in the beauty industry. Emily has enjoyed her time at Sunshrine and loves the friendly atmosphere!
